Background

The Intercultural Mentoring was initiated as a part of the Interantionalization strategy of Osnabrueck University in December 2008. It offers social as well as academic guidance for international students who want to pursue their entire Bachelor/undergraduate or Master/graduate studies at Osnabrueck University. Right from the beginning of the first semester the international students are supported, accompanied and advised through academic dialogue and the exchange of knowledge and experience. International students can benefit from the know-how of German students and academics (Mentors) during the initial stage of their studies at Osnabrueck University by applying for the mentoring program and becoming a "Mentee". The mentoring program aims at reducing the dropout rate of international students and at improving the constructive organization of their studies.
