General information about the psychology programs
Student life in Osnabrück is characterized by a university and a college in the heart of a small city with 170,000 inhabitants. About 30,000 students give Osnabrück the flair of a young student city with a center around the castle, the adjacent castle garden and a cafeteria. The psychology department is located on Lise-Meitner-Straße.
The Institute of Psychology accommodates a total of about 600 students, distributed among a polyvalent Bachelor's program (B.Sc.) and two consecutive Master's programs (M.Sc.). Each winter semester, approximately 80-100 Bachelor students and approximately 70-80 Master students begin their studies. These year sizes help to ensure that students can easily get to know each other and work together. A good student orientation is also repeatedly attested to psychology by the CHE university ranking. There, the psychology program in Osnabrück regularly occupies top positions in the areas of overall study situation and support.
The culture at the institute are characterized by open doors and cooperative collaboration between students and the faculty. An active student council also contributes to this, for example welcoming new students through freshers' week and organizing an annual Christmas and summer party.
