Internships Abroad
Internships are another option for a stay abroad. On the one hand, this can be an internship in a companies, clinics or other institutions. On the other hand, a research internship at universities or research institutions is an option.
The Praxisportal can be helpful in the search for a suitable internship. In the databases of the portal, experience reports of fellow students can be viewed or current job advertisements can be searched. You can also get in touch with other students who have made themselves available as contact persons.
Internships abroad in the Bachelor
During bachelor’s degree one or more internships can be completed abroad for all internship modules. As part of the Berufsbezogenes Praktikum, 30h can be credited for the increased organizational effort of an internship abroad. Please note that internships abroad must also meet the criteria of the Approbationsordnung if you are aiming for the Approbation.
The internship is recognized by the transfer manager. The following documents must be submitted for internship for recognition:
- Written confirmation from the internship institution about the internship times and contents, including information on the number of hours worked. (Proof of the hours worked is essential for recognition!)
- Form for recognition (if you wish to gain the Approbation: including the certificates according to the Approbationsordnung for Orientierungspraktikum and/or BQT I)
- Internship report form (Please fill in as a document with electronic signature. If this is not possible, please attach the first page of the form signed by hand in addition to the document.
Please send all documents in one e-mail in PDf-format to: transfermanagerin-psychologie@uni-osnabrueck.de
4. Please also send the questionaire on international mobility to the examination office (papsych@uos.de).
Internships Abroad in the Master
In the Master’s program, internships abroad are a frequently used route to study abroad, since in addition to recognition for the Berufsbezogene Praktikum there is the possibility of recognition of a research internship abroad for the module Studienprojekt (Studienprojekt and Kolloquium I + Kolloquium II in the Intercultural Master).
The clear research focus is important for the recognition of the internship abroad. Exemplary activities include e.g. literature research, study conception, data collection, data evaluation, scientific writing or presentations. The activities should be based on the research cycle.
Recognition can be granted if a certain minimum number of hours is available:
- Studienprojekt: 8 ECTS x 30h = 240h
- Kolloquium I: 3 ECTS x 30h = 90h
- Kolloquium II: 4 ECTS x 30h = 120h (Intercultural Master)
For the preparation and follow-up of the research internship 60 hours are recognized. This number of hours can therefore be deducted from the necessary internship time.
The research internship is recognized as Studienprojekt by the transfer manager. The following documents must be submitted for internship for recognition:
- Written confirmation from the internship institution about the internship times and contents, including information on the number of hours worked. (Proof of the hours worked is essential for recognition!)
- Form for recognition (Information on recognition as a Studienprojekt and Kolloquium can be found on the 2nd page of the form.)
- Internship report form (Please fill in as a document with electronic signature. If this is not possible, please attach the first page of the form signed by hand in addition to the document.
